My Review:

This book is spectacular, and I feel as if it were written for me! This is an amazing story that I did not want to ever put down!
The whole ambiance was dark and tragic, but the tale it self was stellar and the characters were so crisp and unique in their own ways, you cannot help but form a relationship with each one of them while reading.
I love how this was a very unique prospective on the era in Europe and the weight of supernatural and realism were perfectly balanced. Nothing was too over done and I was just engulfed into the realm.
When it comes to the romance, it was just perfection, from the unwanted attention, to the desire and lust and heartbreak. Nothing over shadowed the main cause in this tale and it was just expertly realized.
The main character, Ismae, is just one bad ass chick! She makes Katsa (from Graceling) almost seem meek in comparison. She is a strong female protagonist and I adored her strength and conviction throughout the book. She was always consistent with her personality, and when she was swayed by this unforseen love, it shows how this “wolf” has a heart; which at first she is unwilling to let it falter. It is a delicious story, my fingers almost bled from turning the pages with so much enthusizasm! I LOVED THIS!!! IT IS NOW ONE OF MY FAVORIES BEATING “FIRE” by Kirstin Cashore.

Both love and betrayal, mystery and slaughter all had fantastic description and I just got lost in all this intrigue.
I barely ever read historical fiction, but this one has the works! I HIGHLY recommend this book for lovers of YA Fantasy readers.
