My Review:

5 / 5 Stars

Oh My God. This book FREAKING ROCKED. It is the companion of "Graceling." This takes place a about 30 years before the events in Graceling take place. Fire (who has been the inspiration for all my pseudonym's) has got to be my favorite female leading lady out of ANY book I have ever read! She is the last of the human "monsters". Mosters are creatures in this land that can control humans and animals around them with their beautiful features, especially their hair/fur. Her father left a nasty legacy because of the damaged he caused to the kingdom. She has to break the stigma and save her precious kingdom before they are overthrown.
The love story came so unexpectedly but so perfectly at the end that it left me gripping the book and turning the pages rapidly. I reread it about 3 times already. I love it so much.
I think this one outshines Graceling and Bitterblue (<-the 3rd book)
It has unique characters and a crazy plot, I really HOPE that Ms. Cashore decides on continuing this realm in the future. She has been an incredible talent for the YA Fantasy genre!
